Outlines the stages in the archive transfer process.
State Records accepts transfers of official records of enduring value which are older than 15 years, and no longer required for current administrative use.
State Records will postpone transfer of records into our custody under certain circumstances.
Physical transfer of records to State Records' custody can only occur once we have approved the transfer proposal.
Listing the records for transfer identifies the items (files, volumes, etc) to be transferred and enables your agency to know what items are held in our custody.
Records should be sorted into order before boxing and listing, so that they are listed in the correct sequence.
Agencies determine public access to archives in consultation with the Director, State Records.
