Ombudsman SA has developed two training modules designed to give staff the appropriate knowledge in the use of the Information Sharing Guidelines.
Information Privacy Principle Exemptions
If an agency needs to share information but it is outside of the Public Sector (Data Sharing) Act 2016, Information Sharing Guidelines and the sharing may breach the Information Privacy Principles Instruction an application can be made to the Privacy Committee for an exemption from relevant principles.
Formal request for an exemption to the Information Privacy Principles Instruction can be made using the Information Privacy Principles Exemption Template. This will enable the exemption to progress through to the Privacy Committee for approval.
