Audience

State government staff who handle personal information as part of their role (including contractors, volunteers and any other people working on behalf of an agency).

Local government and university staff, contractors and volunteers who handle personal information are also recommended to complete this course.

How to conduct a privacy impact assessment

Audience

State government agency staff who collect and use personal information for projects/initiatives and who want to take a best practice approach to information privacy. This includes contractors, volunteers and any other people working on behalf of the agency.

Local government and university staff who handle personal information and need to undertake PIAs are also recommended to complete this course.

Completing this course will help you to:

  • consider the importance of personal information and information privacy
  • determine your projects information privacy needs
  • plan your Privacy Impact Assessment
  • analyse and assess a project’s information privacy risks
  • develop and propose mitigation strategies to address information privacy risks identified

An introduction to the Information Privacy Principles Instruction

Audience

All state government employees who wish to gain an understanding of the Information Privacy Principles Instruction that governs the management of personal information within state government agencies.

Local government and university staff are also invited to complete the training.

Learning Objectives

Completing this course will help you to:

  • recognise information privacy and personal information
  • apply the Information Privacy Principles Instruction
  • interpret the Information Privacy Principles
  • understand the Privacy Committee of South Australia and its functions
  • identify privacy policy released in conjunction with the IPPI
