Our staff endeavour to respond to requests for advice as soon as possible. 
If our staff are unable to do so we commit to providing a response within the following timeframes.

Public access to the Collection

Written responses may take up to twenty working days.

Archiving and Transfer

Written responses may take up to twenty working days.

FOI, Privacy and Records Management

Written responses may take up to five working days, longer by negotiation.

Copying Services


Up to four weeks.


Less than 40 pages within four weeks from payment.

Between 40 and 99 pages within six weeks from payment.

More than 100 pages to be negotiated.

DIY Copying

On the spot.


Review of a draft records disposal schedule

Within eight weeks from submission of all required documentation.

Research Centre

The Research Centre is located at 115 Cavan Road, Gepps Cross and is open by appointment

Viewing of original records

Records must be ordered by 2pm on the day prior to an appointment.

Agency Loans

Routine loans are processed within 48 hours.

Urgent loans are processed within 24 hours.


For Transfer requests received after July 2019


Responses may take up to two weeks.

Booking a physical transfer

Within six months following receipt of all required paperwork.
