Destruction of Records

Records of temporary value can be destroyed in accordance with disposal schedules and management authorisation.

Digital Records Management

Most information created, received, or converted to digital can be managed electronically avoiding the need to print and file.

Disposal of Records

Agencies and local councils must only dispose of official records in accordance with a determination made by the Director of State Records with the approval of State Records Council.

Mouldy and Damaged Records

What to do about mouldy and damaged records, including conservation treatment.

Public Access Determinations

Agencies determine public access to archives in consultation with the Director, State Records.

Transport and Delivery of Records

Physical transfer of records to State Records' custody can only occur once we have approved the transfer proposal.
