History Festival 2017

State Records is offering three events for the History Festival in May 2017. Please join us!

Archives Open!

Sunday May 21st, 10am-4pm at the Gepps Cross Research Centre.
Come and celebrate the History Festival with us at our Open Day.
Our Research Centre will be open for research along with tours of the repository, family history talks, a sausage sizzle and digitisation demonstrations.

Bookings via Eventbrite are essential.

He Shot the Sheriff: Crimes from the Archive

Saturday May 27th, 2-3pm at the Hotel Metro
We've taken a look through the records we hold on crime and picked out some scandalous, tragic and unusual stories.
Hear about runaway convicts, a murder at Government House and see some criminal mugshots from the State's past.

Booking via Eventbrite are essential.

Transport Yourself: Historical Images at your Own Pace

Move yourself through the history of transport in South Australia. Using plans and photos of trains, trams, buses, cars, bicycles and horse drawn vehicles from our collection,
ride back through the State's transport history with State Records' online gallery
