How do I access ArchivesSearch?If you have access to the Internet, you can enter and explore our online collection catalogue, ArchivesSearch, from the State Records' website. There are two ways you can access ArchivesSearch:

How do I use it to find the records I want?The searching menu on the left of the ArchivesSearch screen offers different search options:

Keyword Search is the best option if you are new to ArchivesSearch or archives in general. If you are familiar with archives and already have a reference ID for an agency or a record series use Direct Search. Related Information:
When do I need to register?You do not need to register to search the catalogue. When you first enter ArchivesSearch you are automatically logged in as a Guest User. If you wish to order records for viewing at a Research Centre, you will need to register. Once you are registered, you will be given a User ID. Use the User ID and the password you chose when registering to log-in and order records for viewing at a Research Centre. Related Information:
